2004 was a small vintage, Drought conditions throughout the growing season gave us some concern as the vineyard is un-irrrigated. However the vines coped very well and delivered a small crop of superb fruit.
Winemaker John Ellis has worked his proven Heathcote magic and produced a magnificent, powerful wine with intense dark fruit flavours and powerful tannins. The wine has easily absorbed some eighteen months of oak maturation in both French and American barriques. Cellaring is not only advised, but essential, to see the best of this wine through to 2015 and beyond.
